Wellness Care and Immunization

Wellness Care

A physical exam at least once a year is so important in keeping your pet healthy. A check-up allows your veterinarian to detect any problems before they become severe or perhaps costly.

Upon your pet’s routine exam, your veterinarian will examine your pet from head to tail - checking:

  • Vital signs - temperature, pulse, respiration
  • Eyes and ears for infection, discharge or any abnormalities
  • Mouth and teeth for gum disease
  • Evaluate cardiac and respiratory health by listening to the heart and lungs
  • Gastrointestinal screening for causes of vomiting or diarrhea
  • Skeletal and muscular health and feeling for any discomfort or joint pain
  • Neurological system - any cognitive issues or concerns
  • Lymph nodes - swollen lymph nodes could indicate infection or illness
  • Skin and coat condition - fleas, allergies, growths, infections, wounds and all over skin condition
  • Weight and body condition

Immunizations

Vaccinations are an important role in preventative care. Vaccines strengthen your pet’s immune system against specific diseases and illnesses. Please discuss with us what vaccinations are best for your pet specifically for the diseases they could be exposed to pertaining to location and lifestyle.
