Meet The Doctors

DR. PAUL RICHIERI

Dr. Paul Richieri

DVM, MS, APC, Practice Owner

Dr. Richieri graduated from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. He also received a Masters degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of California, Irvine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association. He opened Melrose Veterinary hospital in 1990. Dr. Richieri regularly attends lectures and seminars on the latest veterinary medical advances.

DR. MARY GIBBS
Dr. Mary Gibbs

DVM, MS

Dr. Gibbs is a 1987 graduate of Auburn University, School of Veterinary Medicine. She has also received a Masters degree in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Gibbs joined our staff in 1999.

DR. PUJA BUCH
Dr. Puja Buch
DVM

As a young girl, Dr. Buch, originally from Mumbai, India, became a Cincinnati resident with her family. Her family, mainly medical professionals, helped pave the way for her love of medicine. Puja knew at a young age that her passion was animals. She attended Ohio State University, obtained her B.S. in Biology & Psychology, and is pursuing her M.S. degree in Animal Behavior and Welfare. Dr. Buch moved to Southern California to attend Western University of Health Sciences and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.

DR. DANIELLE ROTELIUK
Dr. Danielle Roteliuk
DVM

Dr. Roteliuk grew up in Southern California, always knowing she wanted to be a veterinarian. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in biomedical science from Colorado State University. She moved to the University of California, Davis, to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2020. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the California Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Roteliuk enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time at the beach.

DR LISA LERAAS
Dr. Lisa Leraas
DVM

Dr. Lisa Leraas has 20 years of experience as a small animal veterinarian serving North County San Diego and is motivated by the human-animal bond’s strength, power, and beauty. She earned her doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She pays homage to Southern California’s Loyola Marymount University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Art History in 1996. Dr. Leraas spends her free time with her cats & dogs, chickens, and her 2 daughters.

DR SABRINA HIRSCHI
Dr. Sabrina Hirschi
DVM

Dr. Sabrina Hirschi has spent her entire life by the sea, mostly in Southern California, so it was no surprise she ended up serving the animals here in San Diego. She was raised in Sherman Oaks before attending the University of California, Santa Barbara, to earn her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Hirschi headed to the Caribbean to pursue her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University in Saint Kitts. She then spent a year in Fort Collins, Colorado, doing spay/neuter procedures and working alongside the Animal Friends Alliance. Now that she is back on the coast, she enjoys frequent trips to the beach with her dog.

LANA JACKSON
Lana Jackson

PRACTICE MANAGER

Lana has been with Melrose Veterinary Hospital since 1994. She enjoys interacting with clients and caring for their pets. Lana loves all aspects of the veterinary field but has a special interest in animal nutrition. She has completed the veterinary technical nutrition counselor program and continues to educate herself in this area. Lana’s philosophy is that excellent veterinary care is one of the best ways to keep pets healthy and happy.
